Now THIS is where the fun is had!

My Mommy knew I wouldn't like the beach, so she brought me a swimming pool. But I wasn't interested in that either. What I WAS interested in, though...

are very small streams of water. Now THIS is fun!

And I happily played in the spigot trickle for quite some time. A boy doesn't need the ocean to have fun, he just needs a small stream of water :)

A little illustration of why the beach not my fave

Some of you may be thinking, "Why on earth would a child not want to play in the sand and near the water? Here to demostrate are my cousins. Watch and learn.

Off they go, happily trotting towards "fun".

Millie is having a grand time! But don't be mistaken, we all know what happens when you're just going to dip your toes in the water...

WHAMMO! A wave that you weren't expecting hits and down you go. Where am I, you ask? I'm watching cozily from my nice, dry, sand-and-water-free beach chair.

No, my friends, this does not look fun. And that's why I prefer to stay high and dry and be entertained by the more daring children in the family - no dunkings for me!

Zoo baby

Momma just realized you couldn't see my face in the zoo pics, so this one is to show you what I did at most exhibits and how much I enjoyed the zoo :)

Gulf Shores Zoo - pratically a petting zoo!

When you're not a big beach bum (and I'm clearly not), your parents have to find other activities to occupy the time. So we got to go to the zoo! It was pretty small in size, but that just meant you got to be up-close-and-personal with all the animals.
Like the birds, for example. You could just stick your little finger right through their cage! (unless your momma inexplicably yanks you away "in the nick of time" as she says)

Now this joker's not getting anywhere near my fingers. I may be a little naive, but I'm not dumb...

They even had lions, which I would've liked to get a little closer to...

and much to my delight the tigers pratically BREATHED on me!

But I'm cool staying a little ways away from this guy...he looks angry

Our family (most of them)

Uncle Jason, Aunt McLeod, Uncle Matt, and Uncle Daniel S. couldn't come, but here's the beach-going rest of us after 5 days of sand and sun (well, less sand and sun for me, but you know what I mean)

First Trip to the Zoo

Since I did a bunny face for Easter I thought I'd try my best orangutan face on my first trip to the zoo - pretty good, huh?

They had a new tiger exhibit that had just opened - I tried to get the tigers to come over to no avail.

Now THIS is how to really see the zoo - low output, maximum enjoyment. Our friends Jackson and Jude and their parents came too.

Don't look now, but I think the elephant is about to tickle mommy's hair - I'll just play along.

Me and my pops, off to find the next exotic animal.

Little did I know they would have fake animals at the zoo - a little cheap, but again, I'll play along and "pet" the otter.

Summer!

I don't really like large amounts of water, so a bucket of it is just perfect for me!

Unfortunately this bucket that was so fun to play with met its demise when "the garbage man" (that's me) threw it in the outside trash can (one of my favorite outdoor activities) unbeknownced to Mommy and Daddy. Now I don't have a bucket anymore...

Happy Super-Late Easter!

Mimi gave me such a fun Easter bucket. You can see the excitement just oozing out of me!

Books, treats, a stuffed animal....

and for my fans, my best Easter bunny face - I think I make a pretty good little bunny :)

This is a man's job - stand back, Momma

Here I am helping wash the driveway. Note all the sweet rides I have - my biggest decisions of the day come in trying to decide which one I want to take for a spin.

Daddy's ride beats mine on size, but after my inspection of his truck, it's overrated and I'm satisfied with my plastic versions.

Now that our many vehicles are clean, I think I'll help Daddy pressure wash the carport.

On second thought, pressure washing is a little more intense than I care for - I'll watch from the comfort (and safety) of my wagon.

We do live in Mississippi....

Here I am embracing my redneck side (at my great-grandmother's birthday party, no less)!
