This is a man's job - stand back, Momma

Here I am helping wash the driveway. Note all the sweet rides I have - my biggest decisions of the day come in trying to decide which one I want to take for a spin.

Daddy's ride beats mine on size, but after my inspection of his truck, it's overrated and I'm satisfied with my plastic versions.

Now that our many vehicles are clean, I think I'll help Daddy pressure wash the carport.

On second thought, pressure washing is a little more intense than I care for - I'll watch from the comfort (and safety) of my wagon.

We do live in Mississippi....

Here I am embracing my redneck side (at my great-grandmother's birthday party, no less)!

Just trying to be cozy

Momma and Daddy came flying in here like there was something to see. Isn't it obvious that my cup is lonely? I'm just trying to give it some company with the air freshener can....move along, folks, nothing to see here.

Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy!

Mommy and Daddy have been married 5 years! That's 3 times as long as I've been alive! Mommy says she followed Grandma's advice for picking a husband and that's why she's so happy being married to Daddy (along with God blessing their marriage a lot):
1. Marry someone who makes you laugh
2. Marry someone who manages money well no matter how much or little they have
3. Marry someone who is growing in their relationship with the Lord
I hear mommy and daddy laughing a lot together. Mommy tells me that that's one of her happiest memories growing up is how often she heard my Grandpa and Grandma whispering, telling jokes, and laughing together.
To celebrate this 5th anniversary, I got to go to Mimi and Grandaddy's house *overnight*. I'm not sure why I got to have a slumber party to celebrate Mommy and Daddy's anniversary, but I wasn't about to complain! Apparently Mommy and Daddy went to Vicksburg, but frankly I think I got the better end of the deal. At any rate, Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy!

Little Lumberjack

It's a big treat to play in the back of Daddy's pickup. He's always got something fun to play with.

Ahhh...what a lovely set of sticks I've found this time. Got to match them up just right in my little hands....

Now I wonder what would happen if...

"oops!" I dropped them! :)

Hmmm....this is a tricky situation now...

I think I might like to have them back....

Maybe if I could just climb over the side right here....

Thankfully Mommy set down the camera to land me safely on the ground so I could reassemble my collection.

Every good lumberjack has to be ready for anything, and a trusty stick is a good way to be prepared just in case...

Hark....what's that I hear?

I'm not sure, but off I go to find out with my trusty stick in tow. Momma, you stay behind. I'll call you when it's safe.

Peek-A-Boo

Cole loves to play Peek-a-Boo with objects, but this is the first time he's done it with his own hands. So cute if I do say so myself :)

"I don't want my kids to be happy"

We haven't been doing much exciting to blog about, but I read a blog post on another blog that I thought was worthy of sharing on the subject that is so near and dear to my heart, adoption and orphan care.

The Mom who writes it is in the process of adopting a daughter from Ethiopia and part of the way they're paying for this is not saving for their kids' college funds. When friends told them that her children would resent her and her husband one day for that choice, she wrote this letter to her kids - not a long post, well worth the read.

Toilet Time

Twice now I have heard Cole squeeling with laughter in our bathroom where he usually is very good about only playing in the drawers he's allowed to play in. But there's nothing in those drawers that's THAT fun.
The first time he was hauling paper towels out at 60 mph.

Today I found him doing what he loves: taking items out of one container and putting them in another. In this case, it was out of the trash can, into the toilet. This is the face of realizing the party was over :(. I almost felt bad stopping him, he was just beside himself with delight!

Ready for school!

Here I am ready for school! Not that I have a school to go to, but Mommy and I are playing school today :)...

This is my usual mode of transportation around the house - zooming around behind my push cart. I can walk on my own, don't be fooled, I just prefer not to and this little cart is just the ticket to prolong my obstinance about it.

What we do all day

This is what we do all day. Above I'm playing (well-supervised) with the tubing from my nebulizer mask.

The bathroom drawers are always a hot place to find interesting items.

Mommy's hair dryer and curling iron are a favorites until Mommy takes them away...immediately...

And the drawer with all the extra hangers in it has provided at least 30 minutes of fun this morning.

I'm a collector...love to fit as many of any one item in my hands as possible :)
