A little Cole in real life

Sleeping Sweetly

I sleep so sweetly.

For anecdotal interest, here's a lesson in bad parenting. One afternoon Momma was changing my diaper and after she was done realized she must've dropped the cap to the diaper creme. She looked for it everywhere around where we were but couldn't find it. She even opened my diaper to see if she had accidentally dropped it in there. Still no cap. She finally gave up, but oh, if I could only TALK I knew where it was!!
3 hours goes by.....
Diaper change time again. Mama goes to change my diaper and HAHA! There is the cap! It had dropped far enough back in my diaper that he didn't see it the first time. Momma felt terrible because I had quite a nice little cap mark on my tush where the cap had been pushing into me for the last 3 hours. Alas, I guess that's what you have to go through being a first child.

I won't tell you about a few days after that when Momma found a little piece of pizza crust in my diaper. It was hard enough that I also had a little mark on my leg from where IT had been pressing into me. They're still not sure how it got in there...oh the things I have to go through while they learn this whole parenting thing.

They really do love me though :)

4 weeks old!!!

Momma and Daddy thought it would be fun to show you how much I've grown. Below is me at 1 day old in the little shirt the hospital puts you in when you're born.

And here I am in that same shirt on my 4-week-old birthday! Look how big I am and how big my tummy has gotten :). I'm a little chubster.

Grrrrrrrr!!!!

Momma and Daddy got such a kick out of dressing me up in this little outfit that I got as a gift.

It ws Greg Hawkins' birthday so we got to go on an outing. We don't get to do that very often so it was very exciting.
Daddy wants a matching one, but they didn't have any at the store.

My thoughts on pacifiers

Usually this is how I am, just like my daddy - ready for a nap.
But every now and then I get a little fussy, so Momma andDaddy have tried to get me to take a pacifier. Here I am wondering if they're going to try to stick that thing in my mouth yet again. Yes, they tried again, and as usual I let them know what I thought about it. You would think they would get the picture by now but they still try every now and then, and this is always my response unless they put me in the car. Sometimes in the car the paci is the least of all the evils (the worst of which is my car seat).

My friend Bear Vickery is not born yet although he'll be here by Monday unless he comes before then, but his Mama Miss Julie made this little onesie for me with the frog embroidered on it. She also embroidered one for me with little ducks on it. I'm wearing it today in honor of Bear and his impending arrival.

Daddy and me yesterday when he came home from work. He works so hard and sometimes I keep him up at night which makes him even more tired.

More visitors! This is m great-aunt Nancy (Daddy's aunt) who came from Alabama.

This is me with Diane Sawyer, she's practically part of our family because of how close she is to my great-great-aunt Mary Tom

And here I am with my great-great-aunt Mary Tom. She's very special to Mommy and Daddy and lives in Tennessee so I was very glad she came to visit so I could see her.

Our first walk. For the record, I do NOT like my car seat. I am a very complacent child except when they stick me in that thing.

We walked to Aunt Rachel's house and back again. We had planned on a longer walk but that was all we could handle.

Mama's company gave me this little Bomgar onesie, and LaDonna, one of mommy's co-workers knitted me the little cap and booties that you see in the picture below.
All dressed up and no place to go...

This is one of Mama and Daddy's favorite things to laugh about. After I nurse I can barely move a muscle while Mama burps me, I'm just so full. Every day is like Thanksgiving in my world currently. They call me their sweet little Slug when I'm like this. I'm not sure if that's a nice thing or not since I don't know what a slug is, but I'll find out soon enough.
